PolyStar Technologies was founded in April 2003 by Mr. Kim A. Davis. The company engineers and manufactures premium, custom, sintered porous plastic and also supplies microporous polymer membranes. PolyStar's high-quality porous medias are used as fluid filters, vents, wicks, and diffusers in life science, medical, automotive, industrial, and consumer applications.
Our sintered porous plastic is naturally hydrophobic but can be made hydrophilic. The typical pore size range for sintered porous plastic is from about 10 microns to about 350 microns with typical void volumes ranging from 30% to 70%. We closely engineer and control pore size and void volume through the selection of specific polymers and process control.
We have scientifically re-engineered the polymer formulation, tooling, production equipment, production processes, process controls, and quality assurance analytics to ensure robust, high-quality, continuously reproducible results. PolySmart ™, our unique and technologically advanced process innovations, encompass unique, broad-spectrum process improvements and the use of microprocessor-based adaptive process controls resulting in a consistently superior deliverable. These enhancements result in a consistency and reproducibility of process and product quality unmatched in the marketplace with manufacturing efficiencies that provide a significant contribution to meaningful competitive pricing and shorter lead times. Our speed and accuracy provides our customers with a significantly broader market opportunity for their products that incorporate a porous plastic component.
PolyStar's Research and Development team has developed novel, active polymer structures that are:
Our commitment to our customer is unparalleled in the industry. Our focus has always been on better product quality and providing superior, individualized customer service. Some of the ways we do this include:
Thank you for visiting our website. I started PolyStar Technologies in April of 2003 as the result of extensive research into the market's requirements for porous medias. Companies who use porous medias spoke loudly to their need for a supplier offering consistently higher product quality and performance, more responsive, personalized customer service, and quicker turnaround. They also expressed an interest in being able to procure all of their porous media - sintered porous plastics and microporous polymer membranes - from a single source. I believed that there was an opportunity to fulfill these market requirements through the design of new technologies and processes that could significantly improve the quality and expand the applications and uses of porous polymer medias. Although the time invested was substantial our unique and technologically advanced process innovations combined with the "from the ground up" engineering of polymer formulation, higher precision tooling, production equipment, processes, adaptive microprocessor controls, and quality analytics have resulted in a robust, reproducible, high-quality result for our customers.
We operate PolyStar under Good Manufacturing Practices with fully documented processes tailored to each customer's unique requirements. My direct involvement in every aspect of the business affords each customer the maximum in flexibility with a minimum amount of organizational protocol. We have built a reputation of quality, performance, attention to detail, and individualized, personalized customer service.
If you think of PolyStar first for your porous plastic requirements, you won't give a second thought to quality, customer service, or getting the product you need when you need it.
I would be more than happy to answer directly any questions you might have at KADavis@PolyStar-Technologies.com.
